Jerry LoCoco Speaks at Yuma City Council
Jerry LoCoco addressed Yuma City Council on February 6th, 2018 at the Citizen’s Forum regarding the billion dollar bond initiative and the need for higher education funding in Yuma. Currently, Yuma is not included in this higher education bond, yet residents will pay for the interest and principal on these bonds.
LoCoco stressed that Yuma County deserves to be represented in the investment. He stated, “Yuma County has a tremendous amount of opportunity within our community to expand and grow industries not currently fostered elsewhere in the state. Expanded higher education in Yuma is a game changer and must happen if we are to see continued growth as a region and community.” Corcol has created a petition for this cause, please take a moment to read and sign if you are inclined: http://bit.ly/2CvPisu
Singapore Surpasses China as Largest Asian Investor in US CRE
Singapore surpassed Chinese investments in U.S. commercial property by $1 billion in 2017, a clear sign of the nation’s steady rise in global investments. In the past year, Singapore’s major U.S. investments included the purchase of the Deutsch Bank headquarters in New York, purchase by GIC for nearly $1billion, and a portfolio of data centers snatched by Mapletree Investments for $750 million.
What does this mean for Yuma? Investors are also targeting multi-family and industrial locations — a clear sign that the strengthening in these markets will bring expanded growth and higher property values. Read more here.
